At DanceSportVA, we are proud to be a locally owned and veteran-owned small business, centrally located in Virginia Beach with easy access to I-264 & I-64 (Newtown Exit) and one block from the HRT (Newtown Road Station).

Our Story

DanceSportVA was launched on July 19, 2002, by owners Betty Lu and Clive Stevens at Suite A, 5721 Arrowhead Drive in Virginia Beach. The studio provided private and group ballroom dance instruction, dance socials, and an annual ballroom dance showcase. In the summer of 2009, the studio created the Virginia Beach Dance Challenge: A regional ballroom dance competition which has run continuously since that time except for 2020 (COVID). In 2016, DanceSport LLC owners Bob & Maria purchased DanceSportVA. DanceSport LLC registered with the State of Virginia to do business as DanceSportVA.

Our Facilities

Our studio is the largest ballroom dance venue with a 3,000 square foot Main Ballroom, a 1,200 square foot Junior Ballroom, and a 1,800 square foot club room, all with raised sprung floors. With a licensed capacity of 350, we also have the largest studio overall. The studio has been recently remodeled throughout with new tables and comfortable cushioned chairs, new state of the art lighting, sound system and DJ booth, remodeled bathrooms and kitchens, new 25,000 BTU HVAC system, and much more.
