Welcome to Framework Studio Salon, a modern boutique studio salon located in the heart of Piedmont Ave. Since our founding in 2017, our philosophy has been to provide an exceptional and relaxing experience while delivering the expertise of leading hair professionals specializing in classic and creative styles. Our team believes in ongoing education to always provide our clients with the latest techniques and styles. With you as the framework and us as the artist, we are excited to create, sculpt, and color your hair using innovative techniques to collaborate on a custom haircut and color tailored to your individual look.

Our Team

*Kimberly Mandap, Co-Owner/Stylist:* With over 10 years in the beauty industry, Kimberly specializes in creative color and balayage as well as precision short haircuts and bobs. She has traveled and worked backstage at hair shows and photoshoots before moving to the Bay Area to master her cut and color skills. Kimberly believes in continuing education to stay inspired and consistently presents new techniques and styles to her guests. She is Vidal Sassoon certified, has taken advanced courses at diPietro Todd in San Francisco, as well as trained in Wella, Matrix, and Kevin Murphy. Kimberly has a genuine passion for hair styling and loves to provide transformative experiences to exceed her client's expectations.

*Cecilia Bada, Co-Owner/Stylist:* Cecilia is a craft hairstylist who specializes in balayage, highlights, bridal hair, and long layers. She believes that finding a style should be a collaborative process and creates looks suitable for her clients' lifestyle. Cecilia graduated from the Aveda Institute in LA, is Vidal Sasoon certified, and has attended numerous advanced color and cutting classes to develop techniques into her own. With a passion for education and technical skills, she had taught as the Director of Color Education at her previous salon and currently works with Matrix as an Artistic Educator to share her knowledge and inspire other stylists. As a UCLA alumni with a BA in sociology and education, she loves hearing her client's life stories. She thrives on making a positive impact for everyone in her chair by enhancing her client's looks from the outside and transforming the way they feel inside.

*Kimberly Mandap, Owner/Stylist:* Kimberly is an Oakland based hairstylist and owner of Framework Studio Salon. She's been sharpening her skills for nearly 15 years and specializes in hair color and cutting. In the early days of her career, Kimberly traveled and worked backstage at hair shows and photo shoots. These days Kimberly finds the most gratification working behind the chair, helping her clients find the perfect balance of structure and texture through creative colors, highlighting, balayage, precision and razor haircutting. Kimberly thrives on continuing education to stay inspired and consistently presents new techniques and styles to her guests. When she isn't working behind the chair, you can find her propagating a plant, hiking with her dogs or pouring her creativity out on the pottery wheel.

*Cecilia Bada, Stylist:* Cecilia is a craft hairstylist who specializes in balayage, highlights, and long layers. *Michelle Kern, Stylist:* A seasoned stylist of over 17 years, Michelle is known for her meticulous details for creating the perfect cuts and style for her clients. With an appreciation of curly hair, she loves working with her client's natural texture to find a suitable cut for their lifestyle. She also specializes in wedding hair and makeup and always makes her clients and brides feel at ease with her warm personality.

*Laura Shin, Stylist:* Laura began her career as a stylist in 2009 with a focus on precision cuts but soon fell in love with color. She is now recognized as a top stylist known for her creativity and technical skills providing her clients with a complete look. Laura specializes in short hair, Asian texture, and blondeing. She is known for her talent in combining different techniques such as traditional foil highlighting with balayage to customize the color to each guest. When she is not behind the chair, Laura loves to travel and explore different cultures, hiking, fashion, and food!

*Leslie Chin, Stylist:* Leslie is a seasoned hairstylist with 17 years of experience. Formerly a professional Graphic Designer, she draws from her artistic training to create styles that are modern, easily replicated, and low maintenance for her clients. She began her training as an apprentice with mentors from Vidal Sassoon and has continued her education with courses and seminars focusing on modern cutting and styling techniques. Leslie has taken courses with Anh Co Tran and is certified in his "Lived in hair" techniques as well as razor cutting and styling with Pony Salon. Leslie works with her clients to create styles that truly reflect their personality and suit their lifestyle.

*Elaine Nicdao, Stylist:* As a well established stylist with over two decades of experience, Elaine is a haircut specialist. During her consultations, she tries to understand her client's lifestyle, likes, and challenges. With that knowledge, she couples that with her client's face shape and head shape to curate a personalized style. She loves cutting all types of haircuts and is well versed from textured cuts to precision bobs. When she's not behind the chair, she tries to attend at least one hair show a year and smaller classes regularly to maintain her cutting skills.

*Jennifer Kuwart, Stylist:* Jennifer started her career with Vidal Sassoon as a color apprentice over 20 years ago. She quickly worked her way to Assistant Color Director and educator within her 10 years with the company. She left Sassoon to become an independent stylist and has been creating her unique style and techniques since then. She specializes in color corrections, balayage, and ombre. She believes that continuous education is crucial in this industry and regularly attends advanced classes and workshops to stay current on the latest trends and techniques. She strives to make her clients feel and look their best.
