Our Mission

The Irrigation Research Foundation (IRF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices in the region. Founded in 1994, the IRF operates as a research and demonstration farm, driven by a commitment to supporting producers in their pursuit of environmentally sound and economically viable farming methods. Our mission is fueled by the enduring vision of Ed Trautman, a local farmer who donated the land upon which the IRF now stands. This sprawling 147-acre facility, equipped with five pivot systems and a lateral system all powered by a single well, serves as a hub for cutting-edge research and innovation in irrigation technology.
