Our History

Our company was founded in 1945, and since then, we have been dedicated to providing top-notch garage door products and services to our customers. Our Team

Owner Bill Kohlman, Sr. has installed and serviced garage doors for more than 45 years. He is a founding member of the International Door Association (IDA), the professional organization that develops industry standards and promotes door dealer excellence. Bill has met demanding criteria, successfully completed numerous examinations, and proven his competence, professionalism, and knowledge of the industry.

Bill's wife, Kathy Kohlman, and his son, Bill Kohlman, Jr., are his business partners. Kathy manages Skillman Doors' business affairs, while Bill Jr. serves as the Installation Manager. Bill Jr. schedules and oversees customer projects and trains all installers in IDA professional standards in accordance with the IDA's Code of Conduct for Door and Access Systems Technicians.
