Our History

Action Landscaping was founded in 1981 by Walt & Jean Barbagallo. The business was operated from the family farm in Imperial, Missouri, offering Commercial Lawn Care, Maintenance, and Snow Removal. Walt worked daily with his crew to ensure customer satisfaction. The 2nd generation of the company began with Tom, who specialized in Landscape Construction offering concrete block retaining walls, planting, and paver projects. Today, 30 years later, he is still running a crew, doing client consultations and estimates. Tim grew up working with the landscape crew in the summers and developed a passion for the business, acquiring a horticultural and design background. Along with designing landscapes, scheduling project installations, doing client consultations, Tim runs a Construction Crew. Exciting changes happened in 2005 when a new showroom, shop, and 3-acre material yard were constructed down the road from the original farm. As the company grew, Walt transitioned from his daily labor-intensive duties into Sales and Management. He worked in that capacity until passing away at the age of 70. With an Economics degree, we proudly welcomed Walt's grandson Joe to the team in 2020. His commitment to the team marks the 3rd generation of Action Landscaping, Inc.!
