Bishop Verot Catholic High School

Bishop Verot Catholic High School is a college preparatory school that has been serving the Fort Myers community since 1962. We are committed to providing our students with an innovative and community-centered learning environment that is rooted in Catholic tradition. Our mission is to educate the minds and hearts of all students, preparing them for lives of faithful service to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Faith

At Bishop Verot, we believe that faith is an integral part of who we are and what we do. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for our students to be active in their faith and in the community, including participation in athletic programs, theater, digital, fine and practical arts, service projects, retreats, and student leadership. Our faith-based opportunities provide a comfortable and safe environment for students to explore and grow in their faith.

Academics

Bishop Verot is focused on empowering our students with the skills needed to be successful in reaching their post-secondary goals. We have a 18:1 student-teacher ratio, which allows our faculty to offer more individualized instruction and daily office hours for extra help. We offer over 30 advanced placement and elective courses, including a BioMedical Program, Digital Video Program, and Scholars Academy, to prepare students for college and beyond. Our academic programs are recognized for their innovative approach to teaching and learning, making us an Apple Distinguished School.

Athletics

Over 80% of the Bishop Verot student body participates in athletics, with most sports offered at both the JV and Varsity levels. Our competitive athletics program allows students to develop team-building, leadership, and athletic skills. We believe that athletics is an important part of a well-rounded education, and we are proud to offer over 30 sports teams.

Advancement

Bishop Verot graduates consistently receive a record number of scholarship offers, including academic and athletic scholarships as well as the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. In the class of 2022, our graduates were awarded over $11 million in scholarships. We are committed to supporting our students in their post-secondary goals, and our advancement programs are an important part of that commitment.

Student Life

Our students are required to complete Christian service each academic year, which offers them the opportunity to see the impact one person can make in the world while teaching empathy. We believe that service is an important part of being a well-rounded individual, and we are proud to offer over 22,000 Christian service hours annually.
