Our History
Lindstrom Machining has been a fixture in the manufacturing community for over seven decades, providing exceptional machining services to a diverse clientele. Our journey began in 1950, not in a sprawling industrial complex, but in the humble basement of Robert C. Lindstrom's home. Driven by a passion for precision and craftsmanship, Robert's entrepreneurial spirit soon outgrew his basement workshop. This expansion led to the construction of a garage in the backyard, providing more space to accommodate the burgeoning business. However, the demand for Lindstrom Machining's services continued to grow, ultimately necessitating a move to the company's current location in 1956. Throughout these early years, Robert instilled a commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction that continues to define our company today.
From Apprenticeship to Ownership
Robert's son, Al Lindstrom, joined the family business in 1955, starting as an apprentice to learn every facet of the machining trade. Al's dedication and hard work blossomed into a lifelong passion for the industry. He took the reins as president in 1995, ushering in a new era for Lindstrom Machining. Al's vision led to the integration of cutting-edge computer-controlled equipment, significantly enhancing the company's capabilities and efficiency. His three sons, Chris, Todd, and Wade, followed in their father's footsteps, gaining hands-on experience within the machinery of the business. While Todd and Wade pursued different paths, Chris remained dedicated to the family legacy, working alongside his father until Al's passing in 2009.
A Legacy of Trust and Expertise
Following Al's passing, Rose Lindstrom, Al's widow, assumed the role of owner and president. Joined by Chris, they skillfully navigated the challenges of evolving industry demands while preserving the values upon which Lindstrom Machining was founded. Trust, integrity, and exceptional service became the cornerstones of their continued success. In a testament to the enduring family connection, Todd, with his expanded knowledge and experience gained in other machining companies, re-joined the business in 2018. This strategic reunification brought together the expertise of three generations, solidifying Lindstrom Machining's position as a leader in the machining industry.
