At Troy Psychological Services, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive counseling and assessment services for children, families, and adults. Our team of five clinicians, including Dr. Sarah Gates, PsyD, offers a diverse range of therapeutic approaches to address the unique needs of each client. We believe in the importance of individualized treatment, incorporating techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, family systems, play therapy, activity therapy, and family therapy. For children, we also involve caregivers in the therapy process, focusing on parenting strategies, parent communication styles, and discipline techniques.

Our services include individual and family psychotherapy, psychological evaluations for adults and children, and consultation services for schools and childcare centers. Dr. Gates is trained in early-childhood mental health consultation and can provide guidance on behavioral and social-emotional topics. Additionally, she offers trainings and workshops to professionals and parents on various mental health-related topics, such as tantrum and explosive behaviors, social and emotional childhood development, and parenting skills.

Dr. Sarah Gates, our lead clinician, brings over 25 years of experience in working with clients of all ages. She holds a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology from Skidmore College, a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and a Master of Science and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. Dr. Gates is licensed as a Psychologist in Pennsylvania and has received extensive training in psychotherapy and psychological assessment.
