At Sherwood Tree Service, trees are our passion and quality is our obsession. Since 2011, we have been serving the greater Tampa Bay area, including Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties and surrounding areas such as Seminole, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo, Safety Harbor, Palm Harbor, and the area beaches, Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, and Lutz. Our team is dedicated to helping our clients meet their tree care goals and determining what is best for their trees and property.

Our owner, Tom, had been in the tree care industry since 1999, previously working in North Carolina and Nottingham, England - the very home of Sherwood Forest! After starting Sherwood Tree Service, Tom realized that he not only loved being out working in the trees but also had an obsession with quality within his business. This includes the individuals he chooses to work with, the outcome of every job, and every client interaction. At Sherwood, if our client or their trees are not happy, then we are not happy. While we are far from perfect, perfection is indeed our goal!

We are proud members of various professional affiliations that help us stay updated with the latest techniques and best practices in tree care. These affiliations include the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). Through these organizations, we are able to continually educate ourselves and improve our services to better serve our clients.

• Tree Trimming & Pruning: We pride ourselves on our ability to prune trees beautifully. We work closely with our clients to understand their objectives and advise on how those objectives can be met through educated and long-term tree care. Our team members understand the thought process that goes into each and every pruning cut and are dedicated to continuing education of tree pruning techniques.

• Tree Removal: Sometimes, due to hazardous conditions or other factors, trees need to be removed. We bring many years of experience along with the correct machinery, training, and insurance to ensure that the job is done safely and efficiently.

• Crown Reduction: When a tree becomes too large or is growing in an unwanted direction, crown reduction can be an effective solution. This process involves reducing the size of the tree while maintaining its natural shape and structure.

• Crown Thinning: Crown thinning is a pruning technique that involves removing select branches to improve air circulation and reduce wind resistance within the tree. This can be especially beneficial for trees that are prone to storm damage.

• Crown Cleaning: Crown cleaning involves removing dead, dying, or damaged branches from the tree. This helps to improve the overall health and appearance of the tree and can also reduce the risk of branch failure.

• Tree Support Systems: In some cases, trees may require additional support to prevent damage or failure. We offer various tree support systems, including cabling and bracing, to help stabilize the tree and ensure its longevity.
