Our journey began in the 1970s when Charles, our co-founder, found a home and a family on a farm in Illinois. This experience taught him the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of creating things with his own two hands. Meanwhile, our other co-founder, raised in a loving and hardworking family in Pacific Beach, developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the environment and the importance of community.

The encounter that sparked the beginning of Wave Shoppe happened in 2000 when the two of us met at a coffee shop in Encinitas. Charles, a Quality Control Manager, caught my eye with his unique, wild, and crazy Hawaiian shirt - the perfect expression of his Illinois-meets-California style. Our shared love for vibrant colors, fun patterns, and the laid-back island lifestyle led us to start Wave Shoppe, a celebration of Aloha spirit in every stitch and print.
