At North Bend Retriever Kennel, we have been dedicated to providing top-notch services for dogs and their owners since 1973. Our family-run business, nestled in a beautiful mountain setting, is committed to caring for and training your beloved pet. Our team, led by Russ and Mary Hallowell, has been working tirelessly to ensure that every dog that enters our facility is treated with the utmost care and respect. We are proud members of the American Kennel Club, Breeders of Merit, Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association, Inc., Rainier Hunting Retriever Club, and Breeders Club. These memberships underscore our commitment to upholding the highest standards in the industry.

Services Offered

At North Bend Retriever Kennel, we offer a variety of services to cater to the needs of dog owners. These include:

1. Training: We provide obedience training, water and field retrieving, and gun dog training. Our training methods are based on positive results technique, and we believe in keeping things simple and black and white. Our approach is firm but fair, and we ensure that your whole family can work together to learn how to train your pet. We offer individual workouts or training by the month.

2. Boarding: We care for your dog as if it were our own. Our boarding services are available for any length of time, with or without training. We accommodate all breeds of canines and ensure that they are comfortable and well-cared for. Our kennel runs are separated by 4' high concrete walls, and we use cedar shavings for bedding. We clean the kennel runs twice a day and can accommodate special diets and feeding schedules. We will also give your dog any necessary medications and ensure a safe and healthy environment.

3. Breeding: We breed champions, including Field Champions, Amateur Field Champions, Canadian Field Champions, American and Canadian Pointed Derby Dogs, Master Hunters, Senior Hunters, and Junior Hunters. We breed for birdiness, courage, intelligence, trainability, and sociability. Our puppies are OFA certified, AKC registered, and we guarantee them against congenital defects, gun shy, water shy, bird shy, and people shy. We also provide helpful hints on training and care of your new retriever for free.

4. Puppies and Adult Dogs for Sale: We occasionally have puppies and adult dogs available for sale. Please check our website regularly for updates.

Our Commitment to Safety and Health

At North Bend Retriever Kennel, we take the safety and health of all dogs in our facility very seriously. We ensure that all of our dogs receive the vaccine for coronavirus, and we use hot water and soap for washing, not hand sanitizer, as it is toxic to dogs. We also maintain a safe distance from our clients during training sessions.
