Our Origin Story

Blackout Theatre emerged in the summer of 2007 from a group of passionate University of New Mexico students. From humble beginnings with late-night sketch comedy shows, we have evolved into a dynamic theatre company that produces both traditional and innovative productions. Our journey has also included developing Wrinkle Writing, a successful program that empowered young minds through playwriting.
