Our Legacy: The Beginning of a Furniture Story

Over two decades ago, Furniture Source International Retail Store began as a way to showcase the market samples crafted by FSI's factories after a successful wholesale furniture market. Trey Baumgarner, with a deep understanding of the furniture industry gained from years of experience, launched the company shortly after arriving in Bryan/College Station with his wife, Melissa. Their decision to set up shop in this area where Melissa's family has deep roots was a homecoming of sorts.

Having honed his skills in the industry since the 1970s, Trey Baumgarner's reputation for quality craftsmanship and his dedication to beautiful design made him a sought-after partner in the furniture world. What started as a way to sell surplus market samples at a former Wellborn Grocery and Feed store, fortuitously purchased from Melissa's stepfather, Grover Walker, soon blossomed into something much more.

The store, initially stocked with market samples, gradually expanded its offerings, attracting customers with its unique selection of sustainably sourced furniture and handcrafted treasures from around the globe.

Trey and Melissa's shared vision and passion for quality furniture propelled the store's growth. They expanded the space, diversified their inventory, and cultivated a loyal customer base drawn to the exceptional quality and timeless designs.
