Who We Are at My Birthday Too

My Birthday Too was created in April 2019 by Lauren Repnyek and Christine Gonenc, two friends who met while volunteering at school when their sons were in the same class. They were aware of the needs of school children in Wake County, particularly those experiencing homelessness. This realization, combined with their love for throwing birthday parties for their own children, led to the creation of My Birthday Too. Our mission is to provide birthday parties to children experiencing difficult times, to bring happiness and create happy birthday memories.

Our Services and How You Can Help

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides community birthday parties to children in lower-income areas in Northeast Wake Forest. We believe every child deserves to celebrate! Our events feature theme decorations, games, crafts, snacks, and party favors. Every birthday child gets to blow out candles on a cupcake as guests sing Happy Birthday to them. You can help by donating or by participating as a volunteer. We have various volunteer opportunities available, including setting up and decorating the party space, playing games, doing arts and crafts, serving food, and cleaning up after the party. You can also help by being a donations pick-up or collection site, or by offering your special talents for party entertainment, such as face painting or balloon making. Your support is crucial to the success of our organization.

How Your Donations Make a Difference

Your donations are invaluable to us. With your help, we can provide complete community parties, including decorations, food, and favors. Your gift can provide cupcakes and snacks for all guests at one of our monthly community parties, or even a complete celebration for a child aging out of foster care. We appreciate donations of any amount, as well as Target and VISA gift cards. You can donate online or mail your donation to us. We are a volunteer-run organization, and your support is what drives us forward.
