Barracuda Swimworks is a premier swimming instruction company founded by Olympic silver medalist and renowned athlete, Beth Barr. With over 30 years of experience working with children, competitive athletes, and adults, both online and in the water, Beth has dedicated her life to sharing her love for swimming and teaching vital water safety skills. Based in Pensacola, FL, Barracuda Swimworks is committed to creating confident and safe swimmers in a child-centered environment.

Meet Beth Barr

Beth Barr, a Pensacola native, is an Olympic silver medalist in swimming and has been named one of the top ten all-time greatest athletes from her hometown. She is a graduate of the University of Texas and has spent decades working with swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Her passion for swimming and water safety led her to establish Barracuda Swimworks, initially in Arizona, and now back in her beloved hometown.

Our Services

Barracuda Swimworks offers a wide range of services tailored to meet the needs of each individual swimmer. Our services include:

1. Private Beginner Child & Adult Lessons: We provide one-on-one swimming lessons for both children and adults, focusing on the fundamental skills required for water safety and confident swimming.

2. Trauma-Informed Teaching for All Levels: Our teaching approach is sensitive to the needs of high anxiety and fear in children and adults. We create a safe and supportive learning environment to help students overcome their fears and enjoy the water.

3. Military Swim Prep: We offer specialized swimming instruction for military personnel, preparing them for the rigorous swim tests required in their service.

4. Special Needs Support: Our team is experienced in working with swimmers with special needs, including autism, learning and communication delay & disorders, and neurological disorders. We collaborate with physicians and therapists to create a personalized swimming program.

5. Intro to Strokes & Competitive Swimming: We instruct students on the four competitive swimming strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle), turns, drills, and performance techniques.

6. Stroke Analysis, Diagnosis, & Correction: Our team analyzes each student's swimming stroke, identifies areas for improvement, and provides personalized correction techniques. (Beginner & Intermediate levels offered in Summer; All Levels via Video)

7. Virtual Race Analysis & Training Strategy: We review and analyze virtual race performances, providing customized training strategies for all levels.
