Our Services

We provide comprehensive services including child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapy/counseling, psychological assessments, forensic evaluations for individuals involved in the legal system, competency evaluations, couples counseling, and outreach programs for first responders and correctional professionals. Additionally, we offer specialized support and counseling for transgender youth, adolescents, and adults.

Dr. Matias' Approach

His extensive experience and compassionate nature have earned him a reputation as a trusted and effective psychologist.

Dr. Matias' Background

Dr. Matias holds a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and has completed postdoctoral training at the renowned Menninger Clinic and Hospital. He has worked in various roles, including private practice, as the head psychologist at Porter Starke Counseling Center, and in the state prison system, developing mental health services for the mentally ill who are incarcerated.

Community Involvement

Dr. Matias is committed to giving back to the community. He provides mental health awareness training and suicide prevention training for law enforcement, correctional, and state employees. His dedication to serving the LGBTQ+ community has earned him a board-certified Transgender Care provider status.

Personal Life

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Matias enjoys spending time with his family, biking, cooking, gardening, and appreciating the simple joys. He resides in Michigan City with his wife and their 8 adult children.
