Our History

Stuart's Landscaping began its journey in the spring of 1986, founded by Stuart Donald Muche. Starting from humble beginnings in a 240 square foot garage, equipped with only a 1979 pickup truck, a wheelbarrow, and a handful of hand tools, Stuart embarked on a mission to transform landscapes. Within a few short months, Stuart and his wife Linda made a pivotal decision - they purchased a 60-acre property, complete with a house, a pole building, a farm tractor, a lawn tractor, and additional hand tools. This sprawling land, just a mile from the initial garage, would not only become the company headquarters but also the place where Stuart and his family continue to reside today.

The first decade was a period of steady growth. Stuart, with the occasional help of friends or family, tirelessly maintained and installed landscapes for a small clientele. Word of his dedication and skill spread, quickly establishing Stuart's Landscaping as a reliable and trustworthy name in the community.

We Grow, We Expand

In 1996, Stuart's Landscaping took a significant leap forward by acquiring the former "Gudmundsons' Landscape Nursery" at N7820 Lakeshore Drive in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. This acquisition marked the birth of the company's full-service retail center, allowing them to expand their offerings and serve a wider customer base.

The year 2000 brought another strategic move: the purchase of Bartz Nursery in Ripon, Wisconsin. This well-established nursery was renowned for cultivating some of the finest quality ornamental and shade trees in the area. This acquisition proved invaluable, allowing Stuart's Landscaping to maintain its commitment to providing high-quality plant material while offering exceptional value.

Ten years later, in 2006, Stuart's Landscaping ventured into the Oshkosh, Neenah-Menasha region by acquiring "Gro Plant." This strategic expansion brought the company's beloved garden center services to the Fox Valley. Located prominently on Hwy. 41 in Oshkosh, this location quickly became a destination for gardeners and landscaping enthusiasts, boasting a vast selection of locally grown trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials.

Leading the Way in Landscaping Services

As the company's Landscape Construction, Retail, and Tree Farm divisions continued to flourish, Stuart's Landscaping recognized the growing need for a comprehensive and dependable Maintenance Division. Today, Stuart's Landscaping takes pride in offering a full range of year-round landscape maintenance services, designed to protect and enhance the beauty and value of residential and commercial properties.

Stuart's Landscaping has become a cornerstone of the landscaping industry in the Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Fox Valley regions. With a team of over 90 dedicated employees during peak season, Stuart's Landscaping undertakes 250-300 projects annually, consistently striving for excellence in every endeavor.
