Since 1923, St. Johnsbury Country Club has been a cornerstone of the golfing community, offering high-quality golf, superior amenities, and unmatched service. Nestled in the heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, our prestigious club has earned recognition as one of the region's premier golf experiences.

Humble Beginnings

Golf entered the St. Johnsbury landscape in 1923 when the legendary Willie Park, Jr., a two-time winner of the British Open, designed nine unique, engaging, and distinctive golf holes for the newly established club. These holes marked the final design of Park's prolific career, comprising 60 North American creations. With Park's deteriorating health, the installation of the greens was completed by his brother Mungo.

9 years later, in 1992, famed architect Geoffrey Cornish collaborated with longtime member Jim Havers to encircle the original nine holes with nine peripheral holes, creating a harmonious blend of the classic and the contemporary. While the older portion of the course calls for finesse, the newer section demands power. The first half requires strategic up-and-down play, while the latter portion necessitates a clear, thoughtful approach.

Acclaimed Course Conditions

St. Johnsbury Country Club boasts flawless greens, lush fairways, and immaculate tees that golfers of all skill levels can appreciate. The mature original nine holes and the cutting-edge new loop meld seamlessly to provide two distinctive, yet intertwined, golfing experiences. Rolling terrain, breathtaking views, and 160 acres of verdant Vermont countryside encompass the course, providing diverse challenges and a picturesque landscape. The player's skill level and creativity directly impact the shot options and potential risks and rewards. We encourage golfers to select the tee box that offers the best possibility for an engaging, enjoyable round.

Welcoming Environment & Sister Course

St. Johnsbury Country Club maintains a sister course, Pine Lakes Golf Club, located in Palm Coast, Florida. Both facilities share a commitment to top-tier course conditioning and providing a memorable guest and membership experience. St. Johnsbury continues to offer exceptional value to golfers in Vermont while upholding the legacy of golf in the area.
