A Partner You Can Count On
Hickory Medical Direct Primary Care opened its doors in downtown Bellefontaine in 2016, serving as a cornerstone in the revitalization efforts along West Columbus Avenue. For several years, our office was housed in the historic King Building before transitioning to our newly renovated space at 1125 Rush Avenue in 2024. This move allows for more convenient parking and positions us alongside Affiliate Dermatology of Dublin and Premier Allergy and Asthma of Dublin, creating a comprehensive healthcare hub for our patients.
About Direct Primary Care (DPC)
At Hickory Medical Direct Primary Care, we believe in a healthcare model that puts the patient first. Direct primary care (DPC) is a revolutionary approach that aims to streamline the patient-doctor relationship and reduce the complexities often associated with traditional insurance-based healthcare.
Insurance models, while valuable in mitigating catastrophic, unpredictable health expenses, can create obstacles in providing consistent and readily available primary care. Imagine if car insurance covered gas, windshield wipers, and routine tire changes - the cost would skyrocket, and people might become less mindful of their vehicle maintenance. Healthcare operates similarly.
Direct primary care operates outside the realm of insurance, focusing on the core elements of primary care that insurance typically doesn't cover. These include regular check-ups, chronic disease management, medication management, and comprehensive consultations for your health concerns. By removing the middleman of insurance, DPC allows for a more efficient, personalized, and cost-effective approach to primary care.
