Our office, located in Berkeley, California, has been serving the local community and the greater Bay Area for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on our exceptional eye care experience, starting from a thorough examination to finding the perfect frames or contact lenses for each individual patient.

Our team of experienced professionals is committed to excellence in serving your family's complete eye care needs. Led by Dr. Nicole J. Sim, O.D., our optometrist, we strive to not only take care of our patients' eyes but also their overall health. Dr. Sim attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she received the Dean's Award for her thesis. Dr. Sim has a diverse range of experience in the treatment of various eye conditions and diseases.

At Walnut Square Optometry, we value the essential role of a primary care optometrist in maintaining patients' health. When Dr. Sim is not taking care of her patients, she loves traveling the world with her husband, practicing yoga with her friends, and exploring the many wonders the Bay Area has to offer.

Our lovely staff members, Kathye L., and Jennifer H., provide excellent customer service and are dedicated to making sure that each patient feels welcome and comfortable. Our knowledgeable and experienced team of opticians offers a complete optical department with a wide selection of high fashion eyewear and designer frames for those patients needing glasses or contact lenses.

Our Services

At Walnut Square Optometry, we offer a comprehensive range of services to our patients. We conduct thorough eye exams to detect and prevent any eye diseases that can cause harm without causing pain or vision loss. The exam process takes an hour, depending on the complexity of the problem, and includes a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure, and retinal exam.

We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in a lighthearted and fun environment. Our pediatric eye care services help ensure that children have healthy and efficient visual systems to aid them in their learning and make visual demands easier. We work with primary care physicians to maintain our patients' overall health and eye health.

We offer a comprehensive array of contact lenses to suit each individual patient's needs, including daily disposables, extended wear soft lenses, and gas permeable contact lenses. We provide regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult-to-fit patients.

At Walnut Square Optometry, we offer myopia control therapies to help slow down the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults.
