Electric Lighting Agencies (ELA) is a leading provider of lighting and controls solutions. With a rich history dating back to 1955, ELA has grown to become the oldest and most successful lighting manufacturer's representative in the New York Metropolitan area. Our company is built on a foundation of excellence, professionalism, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers. We take pride in our ability to offer creative and technical solutions for specific project applications.

Our History

ELA was founded under the name Electric Agencies and has since evolved to include two locations in New York City and Jericho, Long Island. Our team of approximately 45 employees is dedicated to assisting the lighting and controls community with innovative solutions. In 2019/2020, we welcomed new ownership, John Weintraub and Brian Labbe, who have further solidified our position in the market by expanding our product offerings to include 50 of the world's top specification lines.

Florida Expansion

In 2022, we expanded our operations to South Florida, partnering with Brian Slater from Slater Lighting. This strategic move allowed us to leverage the expertise of our New York office with the young and service-oriented team in Florida. Our Florida branch is dedicated to providing the same level of service and quality products that our customers have come to expect from us.

Our staff includes principals, outside sales representatives, quotations team members, customer service specialists, operations, and financial department employees. Each member is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service and solutions for their lighting needs.
