Meet The Team

Our team consists of fully-licensed and insured flooring experts with over 20 years of experience. Brandi Phipps, one of our owners, grew up in Denver, NC and graduated with a Degree in Early Childhood Education from Gaston College. She pursued a career in Retail Management after teaching Pre-K for a few years. Brandi worked 15 years in the Big Box Retail Industry in Huntersville, NC managing various retail divisions such as freight, point of sale, individual Departments, and Merchandising/Display Coordinator.

In 2013, Brandi and her husband Chris were approached by an individual looking to sell their Retail Carpet Store. After much consideration, they purchased the former Ashe Carpet & Tile and renamed it to Appalachian Flooring & Tile. Brandi's former experience in retail management and merchandising paved the way for much knowledge needed in the flooring industry. She attends shows, markets, and many conferences to stay in the know on the latest flooring trends, designs, and colors.
