Welcome to The Rusty Pelican Wine Shop, an independently owned specialty merchant located in the heart of our downtown historic district. Since our establishment in 2015, we have been dedicated to providing our customers with an extensive bottle selection of handcrafted wine, foods, and beverages. Our offerings range from quirky to exquisite gifts, making us the perfect destination for wine enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike.

At The Rusty Pelican Wine Shop, we pride ourselves on our Tasting Room, which offers over 85 different wines in rotation. With no reservations needed and a flight of six samples and a souvenir glass or insulated bag for only $14, our Tasting Room is the perfect place to sample some of the most awarded fruit wine in the world and discover local favorites. We are proud to support local winemakers and offer a unique selection of wines made in Northern Michigan using cold hardy grapes and wine made in Southern Florida using tropical, citrus fruits as well as Muscadine grapes.

Our building, which is at least 100 years old, is located in the Downtown Historic District of Gaylord, Michigan. With its iconic green roof, it is a landmark in our community and the perfect setting for our store. Our Services

At The Rusty Pelican Wine Shop, we offer a range of services to our customers. Our Tasting Room is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00am to 6:00pm, and Friday through Saturday from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We offer wine flights of six samples, complete with a souvenir glass or insulated bag and bar snacks for only $14. No reservations are needed, and larger groups are welcome to call ahead. Please note that we do not offer wine by the glass and ID is required for all wine purchases.

In addition to our Tasting Room, we offer a selection of Michigan made products and retail selections, as well as custom gift baskets. Our gift baskets are made to order and include a $5 to $25 basket charge. We are happy to help you create the perfect gift basket for any occasion.

We choose not to carry more expensive, high priced bottles from other countries, and instead focus on providing a unique selection of region-specific wine made in the USA. We are passionate about supporting local winemakers and offering wines that are handcrafted, not mass produced. We believe that wine is an experience, and we strive to provide our customers with the opportunity to taste the passion and expertise of American winemakers in every sip.
