Perinton Nursery School

Serving the Fairport community since 1958, Perinton Nursery School is more than just an educational institution. It's a vibrant community where families and teachers collaborate to create a nurturing and enriching environment for young children to learn, grow, and develop. Our spacious, sun-drenched classrooms buzz with activity as children engage in playful exploration, collaborate with their peers, and cultivate the essential skills for independent learning.

As a cooperative preschool, Perinton Nursery School goes beyond traditional models to foster a strong sense of community involvement. Parents actively participate alongside teachers, providing valuable support in the three and four-year-old classrooms. This collaborative spirit extends beyond the classroom walls. Parents contribute to the school's administration and upkeep through membership on committees, taking on vital job assignments, and actively participating in the school's governing board.

Throughout the year, a series of social events are organized, bringing parents and children together to strengthen bonds within the community and foster lasting friendships. Located in the beautiful Mountain Rise Church (which is independent of the school's religious affiliation), Perinton Nursery School embraces diversity and inclusivity. We welcome children of all backgrounds, races, religions, cultural origins, and family structures.

Our Play-Based Curriculum

Guided by the Reggio Emilia Approach, Perinton Nursery School's curriculum focuses on play as the primary mode of learning. We believe that through playful exploration, children naturally develop essential cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.

Our curriculum aligns with the educational goals of the Fairport Central School District's Elementary Program, ensuring a seamless transition for our graduates. The Montessori influence within our program encourages children to learn at their own pace, explore their interests, and tap into their innate curiosity. We believe this approach fosters a love of learning that will carry them throughout their educational journey.
