Our Mission

Spokane Ballet Studio is deeply committed to nurturing a love for dance and providing expert instruction in the art of ballet. We believe that every individual, regardless of age or experience, has the potential to develop a profound respect for themselves and their abilities through the discipline and artistry of ballet. Our mission is to cultivate a studio atmosphere where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Our teaching methodologies and syllabus are meticulously crafted based on the combined wealth of experience and expertise possessed by our exceptional faculty. With a collective 98 years of teaching experience in Spokane, our instructors bring a deep understanding of classical ballet technique and a passion for sharing their knowledge. We strive to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that blends traditional ballet principles with innovative teaching approaches.

Levels of Learning

Our ballet program caters to dancers of all ages and skill levels, from the youngest learners in our Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, and Beginner Ballet classes to advanced dancers pursuing Level 8 and beyond. These levels represent a progressive journey, building a strong foundation of fundamental skills and progressively introducing more challenging techniques. Each level is carefully designed to meet the specific needs and developmental stages of our students.

Beyond Technique: Fostering Well-Rounded Dancers

At Spokane Ballet Studio, we believe that true artistry encompasses more than just technical proficiency. We prioritize developing well-rounded dancers by instilling in them a deep appreciation for musicality, rhythm, flexibility, discipline, and stage presence. We encourage our students to express themselves creatively, explore their imaginations, and cultivate the confidence to shine on stage.

Showcasing Talent: Performance Opportunities

We recognize the importance of performance experience in a dancer's development. All students have the opportunity to participate in our annual recital, a culminating celebration of their hard work and artistry. Additionally, we provide various other performance opportunities throughout the year, allowing our dancers to showcase their skills and share their passion with the community.

Advanced Training: The Advancing Dancer Program

For students deeply committed to dance and aspiring to pursue professional careers or university dance majors, we offer the Advanced 2 program. This intensive daytime program, by director's permission and with a minimum of five participating students, expands upon our regular curriculum by adding extra hours of class, challenging variations, partnered work, and focused strengthening training.
