Driver Training Services

Driver Training Services is a reputable driving school that has been dedicated to the training of safe and competent drivers since 1996. We are proud to be a AAA approved driving school, and we strive to deliver the highest quality of driver education to our students. Our team of highly qualified, professional driving instructors is committed to teaching new drivers not just to drive, but to drive safely. We offer a wide range of services for both new and experienced drivers, and we are continuously working to improve and expand our programs.

New Driver Programs

At Driver Training Services, we understand that learning to drive can be a daunting task, especially for new drivers. That's why we are committed to providing our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become confident and safe drivers. Our new driver programs are designed to teach students the fundamentals of driving, including traffic laws, road safety, and defensive driving techniques. We offer a variety of classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons to accommodate students' different learning styles and schedules.

Experienced Drivers

We also offer a wide range of services for experienced drivers, including classes, simulator sessions, and behind-the-wheel lessons. Our experienced driver programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of our students, whether they are looking to improve their driving skills, upgrade their license, or become a commercial driver. We offer certified driver's tests at our North Wales location, and we also provide the Ready-Assess, a self-guided diagnostic test of crash-prevention skills.

Parent Involvement

At Driver Training Services, we believe that parent involvement is crucial to the success of our students. That's why we encourage parents to be actively involved in their child's driver education. We provide resources and support to help parents stay informed and involved throughout the learning process.

Instructors

Our instructors are the backbone of our driving school. They are highly qualified, professional driving instructors who are experts in their field. Their backgrounds include experience in law enforcement, fleet safety, and youth leadership. All of our instructors undergo thorough testing and training, including driving history reviews, child abuse history clearances, FBI criminal background checks, PA state criminal background checks, character references, and the PA Dept. of Education written exam. They also receive 60 hours of instructor training and continuing education in the field of driver training.

Bob Gillmer

As the owner of Driver Training Services, Bob has been in the transportation industry for more than 45 years. He has been licensed by the PA Department of Education as a driving instructor since 1996 and has certifications from the PA Department of Transportation as an Inspection Mechanic, a Commercial Driver Trainer, and a Third Party CDL Instructor/Examiner. He has extensive experience in safety training, risk management, and accident prevention. Bob also presents National Safety Council Defensive Driving classes at Montgomery County Community College.

Sandy Henning

Sandy has been working with children her entire adult life. She has extensive experience in coaching and driving, which makes her a valuable addition to our team of driving instructors. Sandy brings her experience raising teenagers into her training by creating a positive atmosphere and allowing her students to learn at their own pace.

Christine Wright

As a mother of three, Chris brings her experience raising teenagers into her training by creating a positive atmosphere and allowing her students to learn at their own pace. She believes that successful learning is best achieved when the teacher and student work together to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Chris works with teens in her church youth group and teaches Sunday School.
