Established by Brad Stock, a veteran engineer, producer, and session musician with over three decades of experience, Painted Sky Studios carries on the legacy of its founder, Steve Crimmel. Brad's musical background and technical expertise ensure that every project, whether it's a solo artist's intimate album or a full band's energetic live recording, receives the utmost attention to detail and sonic brilliance.

A Blend of Classic and Contemporary

Painted Sky Studios seamlessly combines vintage analog equipment with the precision and flexibility of modern digital workflows. We believe in harnessing the warmth and depth of classic 2-inch analog recording, offering the dynamic range and richness that have defined generations of iconic recordings. Our core studio boasts an 8,000 cubic foot space, featuring two isolation booths and a specialized guitar amp isolation room, designed to capture every nuanced performance with clarity and authenticity.

To complement our vintage roots, we utilize Universal Audio's LUNA Recording System, featuring state-of-the-art API console emulation, Neve summing, and Ampex tape emulation. This allows us to capture the essence of classic analog sound while leveraging the efficiency and flexibility of a modern digital environment.
