Founded in 2011 by Artistic Director Nicole A. Martinell, Deep Vision Dance Company is a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing innovative choreographic work while fostering artistic growth and community engagement. Our mission centers on creating immersive dance experiences that connect diverse audiences through collaborations with dancers, musicians, scientists, and visual artists. With a focus on both grand site-specific works and intimate performances, we explore the emotional complexity of humanity and the strange beauty of our world. Our team has received 22 grants since inception, including Marylands Baker Artist Awards, and has presented work across multiple states. We prioritize education through workshops, mentorship programs, and partnerships with institutions like Towson University, where we serve as a resident company. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in our anti-racism initiatives and collaborations with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. With over a decade of experience, we combine somatic education, dance science, and interdisciplinary approaches to push creative boundaries. Our performances have been described as breathtaking and intellectually stimulating, blending abstract and narrative elements. We maintain rigorous artistic standards while ensuring accessibility through community improvisation jams and educational outreach. This dedication to both excellence and inclusivity defines our approach to dance as an evolving, transformative art form.

These sessions emphasize both technical skill development and personal expression, making dance accessible to all experience levels.
Site-Specific Performances
We create immersive dance experiences in unconventional spaces, transforming environments like historical buildings and public parks into dynamic performance venues. These works investigate spatial relationships and environmental contexts through movement, inviting audiences to experience dance in new dimensions.
Arts Integration Programs
Our educational initiatives combine dance with STEM subjects and humanities through programs like Learning Physics Through Movement. These interdisciplinary workshops for K-12 students and educators demonstrate dance's value in enhancing understanding across academic disciplines through embodied learning.
Community Improvisation Jams
Monthly improvisation sessions welcome dancers of all skill levels to explore movement together. These non-judgmental spaces foster creative expression and community building through spontaneous dance, emphasizing connection and shared artistic exploration without formal instruction.
