Solar 101
Do Solar Panels work during rainy and cloudy days? YES! Solar panels do not need sunshine to get electricity, they get energy from the UV Rays. What is Net Metering? Net Metering is a great benefit offer in the State of Florida, when a homeowner produces more power than the house can use; the excess electricity is automatically sent to the grid building a "bank" of credits with your utility company. Are there any incentives going solar? YES! Until December 31 of 2022 homeowners can receive a 26% tax credit on systems that are installed. Make the switch to solar with $0 out of pocket and amazing savings. Starting January 1, 2023 the incentive will be 22%. What if I lose power? For the safety of workers that are fixing the power outage, it is utility regulation for solar systems to shut down during power outages. Luckily, we have you covered! Kenkay Solar customers have the option to add solar storage to their solar system. What if I sell the house? If you sell the house, you could have the ability to transfer your solar agreement to the new buyer; the process is very easy and offers electricity savings, which is a great selling point when your home is on the market.
