Our History
Athlete Fitness Club was founded on the principles of martial arts as a means of personal development and self-improvement. Our roots are deeply embedded in the teachings of Grand Master and System founder, Jerry E. Fisher, who created the PUMA Karate system in 1974. This system is an eclectic blend of the most effective parts of American boxing, Japanese and Okinawan Karate, and various Korean and Chinese martial arts systems. Our belief is that a true martial artist is an artist in their own right, mastering the basics and then continually seeking new ideas to develop a personal style that is uniquely their own.
Our Classes
We offer a variety of classes designed to meet the needs of students of all ages and skill levels. Our classes include:
- Tuesday Techniques: Focuses on the fundamental techniques and principles of martial arts, providing a solid foundation for further learning and development.
- Wednesday Forms: Emphasizes the study and practice of various martial arts forms (kata), which are essential for mastering the techniques and principles of the art.
- Thursday Night Waza: A class dedicated to the study and practice of martial arts techniques and strategies, with a focus on practical application and self-defense.
- Friday Night Sparring: A dynamic and challenging class that allows students to apply their skills in a controlled and supervised sparring environment.
- Women's Self Defense Class: A specialized class designed specifically for women, focusing on self-defense techniques and strategies that can be used in real-world situations.
Our Instructors
Our instructors are highly trained and experienced martial artists who are dedicated to helping our students achieve their goals. They include:
