Helen K. Baldwin Nursery School

At Helen K Baldwin Nursery School, our highly-trained staff strives to develop positive relationships with each child and his or her family. They provide a warm, nurturing, and responsive environment so that all children will feel free to explore and discover at their own pace. This enables a child to make a transition from home and family to a new group beyond the family circle. We are committed to nurturing a love of learning in all forms at all ages by providing children, families, and teachers with a constant source of support in a loving, safe, and educational environment.

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Helen K Baldwin Nursery School to provide quality care and education while achieving a positive commitment to: a sound growth and development of children, excellence in education, philosophy, and Christian ideals, openness with parents as partners, professionalism in the Early Childhood field, fostering a feeling of belonging among children, parents, staff, Nursery School Board, and community, and promoting a laughing, learning, and loving environment for children.

Our Programs

Our large, airy classrooms and exciting curriculum promote imagination, creativity, and exploration. Children are encouraged to learn and develop through play and other hands-on experiences. We place emphasis on the process of an activity rather than the product. We encourage children to be as independent as possible. All of these components work together to foster intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and language development. We put tremendous effort into making our school a place where every child is welcome. Building positive, trusting relationships with our families is an important part of this effort.

Our Classes

We offer a variety of classes to cater to the unique needs of each child. Our classes include the 2 1/2-Year Old Preschool Class (PLAYPALS), 3-Year Old Preschool Class (BUNNIES), Four-Year Old PreK Class (ROBINS), and Four-Year Old PreK Class (KITTENS). Each class is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development.

Our Additional Services

In addition to our regular classes, we also offer Lunch Bunch/Enrichments, Extended Care, and Kindergarten Club services. Our Lunch Bunch is offered most days and provides a supervised setting where children can eat and play together. Our Extended Care services provide a safe and engaging environment for children who require additional care beyond regular school hours. Our Kindergarten Club is designed to provide a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten by offering a variety of activities and games that promote social and emotional development.
