Our founder, Om Shrestha, was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. His early memories include watching his father run the family tobacco business, which instilled in him a passion for entrepreneurship. After moving to the United States, Om started his career as a barista in a successful local cafe, where he worked his way through every position in the operation over the next decade. During this time, he developed a deep understanding of the coffee industry, from the various types and flavors of coffee beans from around the world to the strategic and administrative aspects of running a cafe.

In 2006, Om decided to open his own coffee shop in Beverly, Massachusetts. He wanted to create a friendly, funky, and happy environment where customers could enjoy high-quality coffee and interact with each other. This vision led to the establishment of Kaffmandu Coffee House, which has since expanded to two more locations in Danvers, Massachusetts.
