Cornerstone Family Counseling

Located in Ames, Iowa, Cornerstone Counseling Center is a Christ-centered, clinically informed counseling center dedicated to fostering a culture of care in the Ames community and beyond. Our vision is to provide expert clinical care while working closely with area churches and organizations. We believe that every individual has great value as a creation of God, and therefore, has profound beauty created fearfully and wonderfully.

Our Story and Approach

Our story began with the recognition of a growing need for professional Christian counselors in the Ames community. With prayerful consideration, Cornerstone Church leadership decided to establish a counseling center that would provide expert clinical care while working closely with area churches and organizations. Through research and consultation with area counselors and counseling centers, we brought together a team of highly qualified and experienced professional Christian counselors. Our counseling staff is made up of trained counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical mental health counselors, and licensed social workers.

Our Services

At Cornerstone Counseling Center, we specialize in providing a range of services to individuals of all ages, including:

• Marriage and Family Therapy: We help couples and families identify and address deeply rooted issues, gain positive coping and communication skills, and improve relationships within a marriage or family.

• Individual Therapy: Our therapists work with individuals to explore complex and largely hidden desires of the soul, develop healthy coping skills, and overcome personal struggles such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.

• Child and Adolescent Therapy: We help children and adolescents understand and process emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and improve overall well-being.

• Christian Counseling: Our therapists approach counseling from a Christian worldview, integrating spiritual and psychological principles to provide a holistic approach to counseling.
