Lewis Station Winery is a family-owned winery and boutique wine shop located in the heart of downtown Lake Mills, Wisconsin. The winery has a unique look and feel, reminiscent of an old vintage gas station, but with all the amenities of a new world-class micro-winery. Many of the wines produced and bottled by Lewis Station are Gold and Silver award winners in various competitions, including the World Wine Competition and the Finger Lakes Region Wine competition.

Our Story

Lewis Station Winery opened in the summer of 2011 with a small selection of wines. Over the years, the winery has expanded its offerings to include a variety of wines and introduced a bistro menu. In 2018, Lewis Station Winery became Wisconsin's first Certified Craft Winery, earning certification from the Craft Wine Association. This designation means the winery makes its wines in small lots and the winemaking is entirely overseen by the winemaker, using grapes from an identifiable vineyard.

Wines

Lewis Station Winery is known for its award-winning wines, including its "Big Red" wines like Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon, Old Vine Zinfandel, and Sangiovese. The winery also produces a range of clean, fresh, fruit-forward sweet wines. You can't find these wines in supermarkets; they are exclusively available at the winery. The Proprietary Red Wine won GOLD in the 2023 International Craft Beverage Competition in California.

Spirits and Beers

In addition to its wine offerings, Lewis Station Winery has a new lineup of spirits, including vodka, cucumber vodka, lavender vodka, gin, and whiskey. They also have a variety of Wisconsin craft beers and an incredible bistro-style food menu, including Pinsa Crust Italian Pizzas. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio, making it a great destination for families and friends.

Winemaking Philosophy

Winemaker and owner Rob Lewis emphasizes the importance of appreciating the differences from grape crop to grape crop, focusing on seasonality and terroir. He produces around 25 different wines, the majority of which are made in tiny 60 to 70 case lots. Rob's goal is to "start with good juice and tell a different story for each bottle."
