Omsberg & Preston is a woman-owned consulting firm dedicated to providing exceptional surveying, engineering consulting, and land planning services to California's north coast region. We are fully committed to providing quality project planning and permit processing, civil engineering, and land surveying services to our clients, and strive to ensure that each assignment is completed within budget and on schedule, and that professional work standards are maintained. We pride ourselves in the exceptional working relationships we have built with local, state and national reviewing agencies, as well as new and repeat clientele, and treat every project as if it were our own.

Our history began in 1981 with the establishment of Omsberg & Company by the late Kenneth J. Omsberg, Jr., P.E., P.L.S. In 2004, Ken began thinking about traveling more and working less, and he took on Kimberly D. Preston, P.E., P.L.S., as a partner. With the passing of Ken in 2007, Kim now carries on as sole proprietor of a woman-owned and operated business with the engineering and surveying work Ken so loved.

We provide Permit Processing for sewage disposal systems, domestic water systems, lot line adjustments, subdivisions, conditional use permits, coastal development permits, special permits, boundary corrections, and more. Our Civil Engineering & Consulting services include project management, development feasibility analysis, site planning, tentative parcel map, tentative subdivision map, phasing plans, striping plans, and permanent parcel maps. For Land Surveying, we offer boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, and more.
