Since 1939, Millstone 4 H Camp has dedicated itself to empowering youth through immersive summer camp experiences. Our programs foster social skills, environmental stewardship, and community engagement while offering week-long residential adventures for ages 5-17. With a legacy of over 80 years, we combine traditional outdoor activities like high ropes, boating, and archery with modern amenities across 250 acres of North Carolina's Sandhills Game Lands. Our ACA-accredited programs emphasize Challenge by Choice, allowing campers to safely explore personal growth through structured activities and peer interaction. The camp also serves as a year-round venue for conferences, weddings, and retreats, featuring state-of-the-art facilities like the SECU 4-H Learning Center built by Amish craftsmen.Our staff undergo rigorous training in youth development, safety certifications, and mental health first aid to ensure exceptional camper care. Through initiatives like the annual Pickin' in the Pines bluegrass concert, we've provided over 75 scholarships to underserved youth since 2017. Accredited by the American Camp Association, we maintain a 1:8 camper-to-staff ratio with 14 climate-controlled cabins and commercial-grade recreational facilities. Summer Camps
Our residential summer camps serve 750+ youth annually through week-long programs blending outdoor adventure with personal development. Campers engage in high ropes courses, boating, archery, and team-building activities while learning environmental stewardship. ACA-accredited programs maintain strict safety standards with 1:8 camper-to-staff ratios and certified instructors.
Event Rentals
Year-round facility rentals accommodate weddings, conferences, and retreats with 14 climate-controlled cabins and multiple event spaces. The SECU 4-H Learning Center seats 150 guests while the Farm Credit Dining Hall serves 170 people with commercial kitchen facilities. Outdoor amenities include a high ropes course and 18-acre lake for recreational activities.
Bluegrass Concert
Annual Pickin' in the Pines bluegrass concert raises scholarship funds for underserved youth. The event includes live performances, BBQ meals, and silent auctions with proceeds directly supporting camperships. Held on the third Saturday of October, this adult-only event features cabin rentals for overnight stays.
Leadership Programs
Challenge by Choice programming develops leadership skills through structured outdoor activities. Campers build confidence via high ropes courses, shooting sports, and team-building exercises under supervision of trained staff. Mental health first aid certified counselors prioritize emotional growth alongside physical challenges.
Staff Training

What age groups do your summer camps serve?
We offer programs for ages 5-8 (Cloverbud Camp), 8-14 (4-H Camp), and 11-16 (Fur, Fish & Game specialty camps).
Are meals and lodging included in camp fees?
Yes, all programs include lodging in climate-controlled cabins and three home-cooked meals daily with dietary accommodations available.
Do you offer financial assistance for campers?
Our annual bluegrass benefit concert provides scholarships, and local 4-H agents may offer special pricing options for qualifying families.
