Our Story
Elm Street Tattoo has been a staple in the tattoo industry for over 20 years, proudly serving the city of Dallas, Texas. Our story began in 1996 when a group of friends came together to create a tattoo shop that stood above the rest. Our co-owners, Oliver Peck and Dean Williams, are both well-known tattoo artists in their own right and have been instrumental in shaping the shop's success.
Tattoo Services
At Elm Street Tattoo, we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality tattoo services in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Our team of 14 talented tattoo artists specialize in a variety of styles, including American Traditional, Japanese, Black and Gray, and more. Our artists are hand-selected by Oliver and Dean and are dedicated to delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service.
Heart in Hand Gallery
In 2015, we recognized the need for a more exclusive tattoo experience, and that's when Heart in Hand Gallery was born. This appointment-only studio space in Deep Ellum offers a high-end tattoo experience in a private setting. Our artists Carl Hallowell and Joe Haasch, along with other guest artists, are dedicated to providing exceptional tattoo services in this intimate setting. In addition to tattooing, Heart in Hand Gallery also offers body piercing services, catering to those seeking a more personalized experience.
Piercings & Tooth Gems
At Elm Street Tattoo, we believe that piercings and unique jewelry can elevate your overall aesthetic. Our team of three experienced piercing artists - Jeremiah, Lucy, and Steve - are dedicated to providing exceptional piercing services. From initial consultations to the actual piercing process, we ensure that every step of the way is comfortable and smooth. Our piercing services are available at both our main location at 2811 Elm Street and our Heart in Hand Lower Greenville location.
Friday the 13th & Elm Street Fest
Every year, we celebrate the tradition of getting a "13" tattoo on Friday the 13th. This 24-hour event was first hosted in 1996 and has since grown into a record-setting event, with nearly a thousand people lining up to get tattooed in one day. We also host the annual Elm Street Tattoo Fest, a three-day convention featuring tattooing, live music, and pop-up events and art shows.
Tattoo Artists
Our team of talented tattoo artists is comprised of experienced professionals, each with their own unique style and artistic vision. Whether you're looking for traditional American tattoos or more modern, cutting-edge designs, our artists are dedicated to delivering exceptional workmanship and providing a comfortable experience in our state-of-the-art studios.
Heart in Hand Lower Greenville
Located at 2919 Greenville Avenue, this newest addition to our family of shops offers a cozier, more intimate setting for our tattoo artists. With a focus on providing a high-end tattoo experience, our artists are dedicated to delivering exceptional workmanship in this exclusive setting.
Services and Experience
Elm Street Tattoo has received both glowing and concerning reviews. On the positive side, many reviewers have praised the welcoming staff, great atmosphere, and exceptional tattoo designs. Ian Jones, in particular, has been highly commended for his artistry and ability to work with clients to create personalized designs.
On the other hand, some reviewers have had frustrating experiences. Rodney Harris reported being unable to find the shop, and Nathan Scott had a negative experience where the tattoo artists seemed uninterested in taking his design and were "lazy." Haley Morales and Dustin Tran had more positive experiences, enjoying the calm environment and reasonable prices.
Artist Feedback
Gary, a tattoo artist at Elm Street Tattoo, has received praise from Cray Crutchfield for his work on a tattoo design, while Dj Spadus had a less satisfactory experience, feeling like his tattoo was rushed and there was scarring.
Challenges and Disappointments
Dj Spadus mentions that the shop was unable to accommodate their needs, leading to a disappointing experience. Nathan Scott suggests that the shop may have an issue with clients who identify as religious, believing they would be discriminated against.
