Royal Printing

Royal Printing, a printing company based in Quincy, IL, has a rich history dating back to 1912. Founded by John Hart in the Rogers Building on the southeast corner of Sixth and Hampshire, the company has grown and evolved over the years to become a trusted provider of printing services in the region.

The Royal Printing Company had its humble beginnings as a job printing operation for the city's numerous newspapers, including the Herald, the Whig, the Journal, the Labor Advocate, the Labor News, the Western Catholic, and the Germania. However, it was not until Henry C. Distelhorst joined the company as a partner that the Royal Printing Company truly began to take shape.

In 1916, the company was renamed the Royal Printing Company, with Distelhorst serving as president, his wife, Elsie, as vice president, and Werner Sommers as secretary-treasurer. The company moved to a new location at 120 S. Seventh, and under Distelhorst's leadership, the Royal Printing Company grew and prospered.

Today, the company is headed by the Distelhorst family and is housed in a former church building at 514 Jersey. The Royal Printing Company continues to uphold its legacy of excellence, providing high-quality printing services to clients in Quincy, Macomb, and beyond.
