Our Story
Our story begins with Jim Lederer, a seasoned industry professional with nearly four decades of experience. With a career spanning from Stouffers Restaurant Corporation to Crawdaddy Bayou, Jim has built a reputation for excellence in every aspect of the dining experience. His vision for Bluegrass was born from the idea of creating a unique culinary experience marked by exceptional food and service at a casual price point.
Our Team
Jim Lederer founded Bluegrass in 2004, with the original chef/partner, Chef David Teichman. Bluegrass quickly ingratiated itself within the Highland Park community, where Jim's eight-year tenure on the Design Review Commission showcased his commitment to the city.
Our Philanthropy
Over the years, Jim has extended his philanthropic efforts to numerous non-profit organizations, including Highland Park's Smile Foundation, which operates within the Highland Park Park District.
Our Events
Bluegrass has consistently introduced an array of events, from wine and beer dinners to the latest additions of boils and smoking events. These events now encompass Shrimp Boils, Crawfish Boils, and a spectacular Lobster and Dungeness Crab Boil to close out the year. Alongside these events, Bluegrass celebrates special occasions like Mardi Gras, Cinco de Mayo, BBQ Fest, and October Fest.
