Alger Electric has been a family-owned and operated business since its inception in 1946. Founded by the late William H. Alger, the company initially focused on providing residential electrical services. Over the years, the business has evolved and expanded its services to include commercial wiring, office buildings, and warehouses. The Alger family has continued to build on William's strong foundation, with each generation bringing new ideas and innovations to the table.

In 1971, Robert H. Brooks Sr., William's great-nephew, joined the company and played a pivotal role in broadening their expertise into the wiring of restaurants, office buildings, and warehouses. Sadly, William passed away in 1976, but Emmett H. Brooks, Robert's father, took over the reins and continued to operate the company as William would have wished. In the following years, Robert H. Brooks Jr., Robert's son, began working full-time for the company and introduced the idea of establishing a sign and lighting division. This division has since become a cornerstone of Alger Electric's services.

Tragedy struck in 2002 when Robert H. Brooks Jr. passed away, leaving a void in the company. However, in 2007, Kristen B. Brooks, Robert's daughter, returned to the company and has been instrumental in strengthening its core services. She has been a driving force behind the company's adoption of LED signs and lighting, bringing Alger Electric into the 21st century.

In 2010, Emmett H. Brooks retired, and Robert H. Brooks took over as the president of the company, continuing the family's legacy. Today, Alger Electric remains committed to providing top-quality electrical, lighting, and sign services to both residential and commercial clients. With a long history of excellence and a commitment to innovation, Alger Electric continues to be a leader in the electrical contracting industry.
