Our History

New York Environmental was established in 1987 as an independent testing laboratory. Over the years, the company transitioned to project management and consulting while retaining and expanding the laboratory to support our mission of providing clients with excellent service using quality data. We are proud of our roots and our growth, which has enabled us to become the go-to firm for the Greater New York Metropolitan Area's environmental consulting needs.

Services Overview

New York Environmental has over 30 years of experience providing services related to building occupant health and worker safety. Our most commonly requested services include:

  • Hazardous Material(s) Inspections of Asbestos, PCBs, Lead-Based Paint, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), etc., for building renovations, demolitions, etc.
  • Project Monitoring, including asbestos abatement project monitoring and air monitoring of engineering controls.
  • Legionella Management (Cooling Towers and Healthcare Facilities), pursuant to NYS Regulations.

Our experienced professionals are certified to inspect and assess risks for a variety of hazardous materials found throughout the built environment.

Metals Analyses by ICP-OES Analytical Laboratory

At New York Environmental, we understand the importance of accurate data in decision-making. That's why we operate the Metro Area's most comprehensive in-house laboratory to support our mission of providing clients with excellent service using quality data. The Laboratory is NELAC-accredited by the NYSDOH Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP Lab ID: 11510), accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program of NIST (NVLAP Lab Code 101967), and is a CDC-Elite Member Laboratory for Legionella work sample analysis.

Our laboratory provides metals analyses by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), offering precise, accurate, and rapid measurements of metals in a wide range of matrices, including liquids, solids, and powders. We follow strict quality control procedures, ensuring that our results meet the highest standards of accuracy and precision.

Project Monitoring

New York Environmental specializes in project monitoring, providing clients with objective evaluation, reporting, and documentation services. We offer asbestos abatement project monitoring and air monitoring of engineering controls, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Our experienced professionals work closely with clients to develop customized monitoring plans that fit each project's unique needs and requirements.

Legionella Laboratory

As a CDC-Elite Member Laboratory for Legionella work sample analysis, New York Environmental provides Legionella testing, identification, and risk assessment services. We work with building owners and managers to develop customized Legionella management plans that comply with NYS regulations and reduce the risk of Legionella outbreaks.
