Worcester Youth & Family Counseling Services (WYFCS) has been a trusted non-profit organization in Berlin, Maryland since 1975. We empower individuals and families to overcome challenges and achieve personal growth through comprehensive mental health services, youth mentoring, family resource navigation, and various community programs.
Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce the effects of financial hardship on children and families in Worcester County and to eliminate any barriers that would prevent children from reaching their greatest potential. We believe every child and family deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are dedicated to providing the necessary resources and support to make that happen.
Our Services
We offer a diverse range of services designed to meet the unique needs of our community:
1. Counseling & Therapy
- Comprehensive mental health counseling for individuals and families
- Trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions
- Support for anxiety, depression, grief, and other mental health challenges
2. Youth Programs
- Mentorship and support groups for youth

3. BYC SAGES & SABERS
- Empowerment programs for young people to prevent risky behaviors and develop life skills
- Creative outlets like art therapy and music therapy to support emotional well-being
4. Worcester Connects
- Positive adult role models and mentoring relationships for students
- Opportunities for peer support and connection
5. Family Resource Navigation
- Support to access food, housing, healthcare, and other essential resources
- Assistance with reunification programs and legal aid
