Our company was founded in 1938 by Jake, an Eastern European immigrant searching for the American dream. Jake started J&A painting and general contracting, and when his sons Joe and Al returned home from the war, they joined the business and moved it north to the Hudson Valley. Today, we are still a family-owned and operated business, with the fourth and fifth generations of the J&A family working under one roof.
