Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Welcome to Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where training takes place both on and off the mat. As the largest gym in Mesa County, we bring in athletes of all ages, backgrounds, and skill sets. This diversity allows us to offer a wide range of classes and expose our students to many different styles of martial arts. With 10 black belts and years of experience, our instructors are well-trained martial artists who have excelled at their craft and are eager to empower our athletes to do the same. Not to mention, students of Grand Valley BJJ are given the opportunity to train under the best of the best: UFC fighters. Several times a year, we welcome professional BJJ World Champions and UFC Fighters into our gym to teach classes on their area of expertise, providing our students with exposure to a variety of Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai styles.

Features

Our training program is designed to help you develop self-confidence as you master techniques, mold muscles, and overcome obstacles. We emphasize mutual respect through safety techniques and an emphasis on respect, teaching our students how to take care of their rolling partners and avoid injury. Our community is built on support, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Discipline is a key aspect of BJJ, requiring students to practice self-control, take direction from instructors, and always give it their all. Determination is also crucial, as students must learn to persevere to become great martial artists. Lastly, our training creates resilient martial artists that are strong in mind, body, and spirit.

History

Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was founded by Kevin Lewis, who began teaching at a local gym after moving from Texas. The school quickly grew, and five years later, we expanded into another unit, doubling our mat space. Today, we are home to about 300 students and have loved sharing our passion for the martial arts throughout this past decade. We can't wait to continue changing lives - one technique at a time.
