At Henderson County Performing Arts Center, we are dedicated to providing quality entertainment and education to the East Texas Region. With a rich history spanning over 50 years of continuous operation, we have established ourselves as a cornerstone of the local arts community. Our primary goal has always been to entertain, educate, and change lives through the transformative power of live performance.

Our History

For approximately twenty-five years, Athens Little Theatre operated under the direction of a totally volunteer Board of Directors and committees of workers who acted, designed and built sets, made costumes and did whatever was necessary to make the magic happen. In 1980, Athens Little Theatre became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, allowing us to better serve our community and expand our reach. Over the years, we have remained committed to our mission of providing top-notch entertainment and education to the East Texas Region.

This mission statement has been at the heart of everything we do at Henderson County Performing Arts Center. We believe that the power of live performance can have a profound impact on individuals and communities. Our shows are carefully selected and produced to appeal to a wide range of audiences, from children to adults, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

In addition to our mainstage productions, we offer a variety of educational programs and workshops for individuals interested in learning more about the art of theatre.
