Our Mission

The Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority (NMWDA) is on a mission to build a greener future by providing efficient and sustainable waste management solutions for our communities. We are a regional service organization supporting our eight member jurisdictions in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County, and Montgomery County.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of services to address the diverse waste management challenges faced by our member jurisdictions. These services include:

• Landfill and Gas-to-Energy Services: Efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste, alongside innovative gas-to-energy technology to capture and convert landfill methane into energy.

• Composting and Recycling: Promotion and implementation of comprehensive recycling programs, coupled with composting solutions to reduce organic waste and minimize landfill dependency.

• Solar Initiatives: Consulting on and facilitating the adoption of solar energy technologies to generate clean and renewable energy from local solar farms.

• Green Initiatives: Guidance and support for sustainable practices like green infrastructure development, waste reduction campaigns, and public education programs.
