J.W. Kennedy Fire Protection, LLC is a proud, four-generation, family-owned business with a rich history that dates back to 1913. Founded as a machine shop on Conovers Alley by Joseph W. Kennedy, an Irish immigrant, the business evolved over the years to include welding supplies, compressed gases, and fire safety equipment. Today, the company specializes in providing complete fire protection services, including fire protection engineering, sales & service of fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, fire sprinkler, backflow prevention systems, inspections, testing & maintenance, installation, code violation correction & repairs, as well as backflow testing and prevention services in NJ and Bucks County PA.

Our History

Joseph W. Kennedy started the business as a small machine shop, but his son, Jack Sr., who grew up around his father's shop and worked for General Motors during the war, expanded the business to include welding supplies, compressed gases, and fire safety equipment in the late 1940s. Jack's sons, Jack Jr. and Dennis, joined the business in the 1960s, and in the late 1980s, they separated the business, with Dennis taking the welding supply portion and Jack Jr. taking the fire safety portion. Jack Jr.'s oldest son, Michael, joined the company in the mid-1980s, and the business has since grown to become a leading provider of fire protection services and equipment.
