Bristol Equestrian Estates was once a run-down dairy farm, transformed into a world-class equestrian facility on June 1, 2001. Our journey began with clearing out over 6,000 bales of hay, removing five silos and two buildings, and concrete removal across the property. We gutted the main barn, leaving only the 4 concrete walls, no floor, and a roof. Our hard work paid off, and by May 2003, we were up and running with 43 stalls, 2 wash stalls with both hot and cold water, a 14,080 sq ft indoor arena, 2 outdoor arenas, a round pen, and over 300 acres of riding trails. Our facility also features a heated and air-conditioned lounge and a tack room with private tack closets, all overseen by our on-site barn manager.
Our Story
Our love for horses began with a single riding lesson for my children, Nichole and Jason, on July 4th, 1996. This marked the start of our adventure in the horse business. By December 1997, we had acquired our first two horses, Gunner and Amber. The following years saw the addition of Pirate, and then two fillies, Lilly and Lea, from Amber. I finally got my first horse, Missy, in the fall of 1999, followed by a colt named Sye in March 2000. Our family continued to grow with the addition of Stretch, Lady Bug, Jazzimine, and Serenade. With a total of 11 horses, there was always something to do. We've had the privilege of competing at the Morgan Grand National, placing in all our classes. Today, we have five horses, and my grandchildren are learning to ride on our Morab gelding.
How We Do Things
At Bristol Equestrian Estates, we prioritize the care and well-being of our horses. We do not offer rough board; instead, each horse is hand-led into the comfort of their own stall every night. Our daily routine includes twice-daily handling to monitor for any potential issues and ensure each horse receives their proper feed and supplement rations. Our strict schedule is designed for the health of our horses and the convenience of our boarders. We have nine different pasture groups, each ranging from 3-6 horses, separated by gender, with the option for individual dry lot turnout for stallions, show horses, or those recovering from injuries. Our facilities are equipped with heated automatic waterers, hay feeders, and at least one shed for shelter in each turnout. We take pride in our safe and beautiful white plastic fences with smooth electric wire, located on 300 acres of farmland with mowed trails.
Facility and Services
Our facility offers a range of services designed to provide the best possible care for your horse. Our 43 stalls are cleaned 365 days a year, ensuring the highest level of hygiene and comfort for your animal. We make our own hay on-site and at a second farm, allowing us to maintain high-quality hay that is free from harmful preservatives, pesticides, or herbicides. We analyze our hay to ensure it's safe and of the highest quality, and a professional equine nutritionist helps us adjust our custom grain mix accordingly. Whether you're looking for a safe and comfortable place to board your horse or seeking top-notch training and competition services, Bristol Equestrian Estates is the perfect choice.
