At the San Antonio Garden Center, we are a vibrant community of gardeners, horticulturists, and nature enthusiasts who share a passion for gardening, conservation, and community service. As a council of over two dozen local non-profit organizations and nationally federated garden clubs, we have been serving the San Antonio community since 1940.
Our History
Founded in 1940, our organization has a rich history of promoting horticulture, gardening, and civic beautification in San Antonio. We have evolved over the years, from humble beginnings at the Weaver's House on the grounds of the Witte Museum to our current location at 3310 North New Braunfels, adjacent to the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Throughout our history, we have remained committed to our mission of promoting gardening, conservation, and community service.
Our Services
We offer a range of services and activities that cater to diverse interests and ages. Our beautiful building and beautifully landscaped garden are available for private rental for weddings, quinceaneras, meetings, business conferences, fundraising events, and family gatherings. We also provide learning opportunities through classes and workshops on various topics, including horticulture, gardening, floral design, and culinary arts. Additionally, we award scholarships to area students studying horticulture, landscaping, and related fields at Texas A&M University and Palo Alto College.
