Our Story

Vines & Rushes Winery is deeply rooted in the rich agricultural heritage of Ripon, Wisconsin. Nestled on the family farm where Ryan and Megan Prellwitz grew up, our winery embodies the spirit of family, tradition, and a passion for crafting exceptional wines using Wisconsin-grown grapes.

Ryan, a lifelong resident of the farm, carries on the legacy of his parents, Chuck and Diane, who operated a successful corn and soybean farm along with Prellwitz Produce, a beloved strawberry farm that recently concluded its final season. Megan, though originally from the city, found her love for the farm life through her relationship with Ryan. Together, they decided to create a winery that celebrated the unique terroir of their land and the resilience of cold-hardy grape varieties capable of thriving in Wisconsin's often challenging winters.

Our five-acre vineyard, planted primarily with Marquette, St. Pepin, and Petite Pearl grape varieties, is nurtured with care and attention. From the careful selection of grape varieties to the meticulous winemaking process, every step is guided by our commitment to crafting wines that are both delicious and representative of our unique terroir.
